The Kansas City Defender Launches Free Clothing Program

The Free Clothing Program, is a year-round initiative whereby people unable to buy decent clothing or lacking funds to buy good quality, stylish clothing can outfit themselves at no expense.

We are excited to announce the launch of our Free Clothing Program!

The program aims to provide new, and quality clothing free to the community. Black and poor people, especially children, often lack the necessary clothing to maintain good health. The Free Clothing Program, is a means whereby people unable to buy decent clothing or lacking funds to buy good quality, stylish clothing can outfit themselves at no expense. This is a year-round program. We will be collecting items and distributing them to Black folks and organizations.

WHERE: We have 2 drop off locations! Big Mood Natural Wines, & Wah Gwan Cuisine.

WHAT: If you have gently used Coats, Gloves, Hats, Beanies, Socks, Blankets, Scarves, Hot Hands, Hot Toes, please consider donating!

In addition to our ongoing Pop-Up Grocery Buyouts, Basketball Park Takeovers and Poetry Events, this is a part of our expanding mutual aid as part of our Community Programs.
