KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI — In anticipation of Mother’s Day, the Reale Justice Network has announced a collaboration with National Bail Out to reunite jailed Black mothers and caregivers with their families so they can be home safely in time for Mother’s Day.

Together, the coalition of the racial and criminal justice organizations will continue the annual tradition that aims to provide bail assistance to Black individuals who would otherwise spend Mother’s Day behind bars due to financial constraints.

Since May 1, the Reale Justice Network has worked diligently to facilitate the release of as many Black mothers and caregivers as possible, enabling them to reunite with their loved ones in time for the special occasion. This initiative will run until May 12.

As a reproductive justice organization, the Reale Justice Network emphasizes the importance of supporting individuals affected by limitations on bodily autonomy and any legislative measures that lead to the criminalization of routine reproductive health practices. Notably, the Reale Justice Network will extend their bail-out efforts to survivors of violence, underscoring their commitment to promoting social justice and equity.

Just ahead of Mother’s day, The Reale Justice Network will also be holding a Black Mama’s Rally for Safety Justice and their sixth annual “Word to Ya Mother” Poetry Showcase on Saturday, May 11.
