The Defender’s Abolitionist Freedom School Is Back — Cohort 3 Applications Now Open

The Defender’s Abolitionist Freedom School is accepting applications for Cohort 3. The 14-week organizer, activist & Black study training program for Black people across Missouri and Kansas launches this spring. Applications close February 21st.

We are in historic times, and a new generation of Black youth is emerging across Missouri and Kansas. Many are being trained right here — in The Defender’s B-REAL Academy.

Ever wondered what it would be like to join the civil rights movement? The Black Panther Party? This is your chance to make history!

Cohort 3 of our Abolitionist Freedom School launches on February 28th, and we’re looking for the next class of people ready to sharpen their voice, build power, and join a movement. Past cohorts have produced published writers, community organizers, and emerging leaders across the region.

Applications close February 21st.
