How to Vote in Missouri

📌 The Stakes Are HighMissouri votes twice this year: the primary Tuesday, August 4, and the general Tuesday, November 3. Registration for August closed July 8. If you are registered, everything below gets you to the box. If not, register now for November, the ballot carrying the abortion ban and possibly the gerrymander itself.
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. In line by 7, you vote, and they cannot turn you away. Missouri runs open primaries: you choose one party’s ballot when you arrive. Accepted photo ID: a qualifying Missouri driver or nondriver license, a U.S. passport, a military or veteran ID, or another qualifying photo ID issued by Missouri or the federal government. If you are registered and do not have one, you can still cast a provisional ballot; do not let a missing card turn you around.
🗓️ Voting EarlyNo-excuse absentee voting in person runs the two weeks before election day at your election board’s locations. Mail absentee requires a request to your board; do not wait, the request and the return both take time. Kansas City residents in Jackson County use the Kansas City Election Board; the rest of the county uses the Jackson County board; Clay, Platte, and Cass residents use their county boards.
🔭 November 3The general carries Amendment 3, the referendum if certified, and every general election race. The registration deadline lands in early October. If August taught them anything, let November teach them more.
