📌 The Stakes Are HighElection day is Tuesday, November 3. Registration closed October 7, and the deadline to request a mail absentee ballot was October 21. If you are registered, you can still vote early in person, no excuse needed, through Monday, November 2, or at your polling place on election day.
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. In line by 7, you vote, and they cannot turn you away. This is a general election: there is no party ballot to choose, and everyone gets the same ballot for their address. Accepted photo ID: a Missouri driver or nondriver license (still accepted if it expired after the last general election), a U.S. passport, a military or veteran ID, or another photo ID issued by Missouri or the federal government. Student IDs and out-of-state licenses do not count. If you are registered and do not have one, you can still cast a provisional ballot; do not let a missing card turn you around.
🗓️ Voting EarlyNo-excuse absentee voting in person runs October 20 through November 2. Kansas City residents in Jackson County vote with the Kansas City Election Board at 4407 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.; check kceb.org for satellite locations and hours. The rest of Jackson County votes with the Jackson County Election Board at 110 N. Liberty St. in Independence or 500 NE Woods Chapel Rd. in Lee’s Summit, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, October 24 and 31, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Clay, Platte, and Cass residents use their county boards. If you already have a mail ballot, it must be received by the close of polls on November 3.
🗺️ Which District Am I In?Because the referendum on the 2025 map was certified, this election uses the 2022 congressional districts. If you voted in a different congressional district in August, you may be back in the 5th now. Check your sample ballot at kceb.org or jcebmo.org before you go.
